Beach Cafe
Beach Cafe are a luxury beachwear company selling the latest designer swimwear, kaftans and beach dresses from leading brands such as Melissa Odabash, Seafolly, Camilla, and Juliet Dunn. ExtraDigital designed and built the English website on Magnento, and then also developed the German store.
German Content Creation
Whether you are looking to translate your website from English into German or from German into English we can help.
First, let's be clear that we never recommend a simple "translation" of one language into another. We recommend a "translocation" service which also considers the buying habits and values of your website customers as well as other differences such as currency and date formats.
When a website is translated into German we consider all forms of content.
- Page Content in the form of text, images & video.
- Meta Data which is very important for marketing.
- Alert & Error messages with aid UX.
- Shopping feeds or downloads.
German Localisation
Localisation is the customisation of a website to a specific country or region, it includes more than just the language.
Payment and prices:
The German Language pages of a shop will usually use Euros rather than Sterling for payment. However, localisation will consider more than this and looks at how the price is written, so £99.99 becomes 99,99 € with a comma rather than a full stop.
Dates:
Although Germans order the date in the same way as the UK (day/month/year), when writing in shortened form the dot or full stop is used as the separator rather than the forward slash.
